This note explains how reforms to water supply will work, particularly regarding their impact on how water will be sourced.

The note has been updated to reflect amendments that the government has tabled for report stage in the House of Lords on Tuesday 25 March 2014 and the Environment Agency’s recent work as part of the Restoring Sustainable Abstraction programme.
