You need to submit your application form and supporting information at least 3 months before your licence expires. See the guidance on how to apply to renew a water abstraction licence.

  1. The charges section of the application form and supporting guidance notes has been updated to include the option to pay online using GOV.UK. Also updated how reference numbers are used and provided a standard format that aligns with other permitting regimes, with instructions to make it easier to identify payments when they are made. As well as updating the charges section, several smaller changes have been made to improve the usability of the forms.

  2. Form amended to remove details of raising invoices.

  3. Added question 6 ‘Aggregated conditions’ and included payment types accepted in ‘How to pay’ section.

  4. Additional information added to help customers complete the form.

  5. WR327 form has been updated to include a space for the applicant’s current licence number at point 3.1. A 12 character national grid reference must now be provided; the space for this has been added at point 3.2.
