Guidance for local authorities and other waste collectors on prioritising their waste collection services if there is unexpected pressure on resources. Local authorities are encouraged to maintain waste collection services as much as possible.
This is non-statutory guidance to help local authorities maintain services during emergency situations, such as:
- extreme weather events
- prolonged industrial action
- infectious disease outbreaks
This guidance applies to English local authorities only.
