Your device must transmit position data every 2 hours when at sea.
The unit will send a report when you:
- power up your vessel
- power down your vessel
- switch the in port button on
- switch the in port button off
- enter and exit a geozone
The unit will also send a report if the unit:
- syncs with the server to make sure the unit is working correctly (once every 24 hours)
- loses its Iridium signal
- loses line of sight with the satellites – the unit will also start reporting every 2 hours because it will think you have moved
- has no power for an extended period of time – it will store the reports and will send them when the power is restored and will also send a ‘hello’ report when power is restored
