Guidance assisting car and van manufacturers registering vehicles in United Kingdom to understand and meet their obligations under the Vehicle Emissions Trading Schemes (VETS) Order 2023.
The VETS Order creates 4 trading schemes – 2 for cars and 2 for vans. One car and van scheme implements a zero emission vehicle (ZEV) mandate. The other car and van scheme implements a CO2 regulation framework.
The:
- car schemes for the ZEV mandate and the CO2 regulation may interact with each other
- van schemes for the ZEV mandate and the CO2 regulation may interact with each other
- the car and van schemes from the ZEV mandate may interact with each other following the implementation of the Vehicle Emissions Trading Schemes (Amendment) (No. 2) Order 2025
