HMRC commissioned an independent research company (Databuild) to undertake qualitative research with small cidermakers.
The report presents findings from 40 qualitative interviews conducted between January and February 2016 with micro-SME producers and National Association of Cider Maker’s affiliated regional bodies.
The research aimed to provide insights to:
- support decisions relating to the small cidermakers duty exemption
- understand the existing production in the small cider market
- understand the adaptability of companies to changing market conditions
