For more information on the remit and responsibilities of the Policy and Implementation Committee (PIC), see our Framework for developing UK Sustainability Reporting Standards. In these minutes, “Committee” refers to the PIC. “The Secretariat” refers to the PIC Secretariat, provided by Department for Business and Trade (DBT).
1. Update on feedback received to the ‘Exposure draft of UK Sustainability Reporting Standards: UK SRS S1 and UK SRS S2’ consultation
The secretariat provided an update on consultation feedback, focusing on respondent demographics and the proposed amendments (including those based on the recommendations of the UK Sustainability Disclosure Technical Advisory Committee). This also included consultation feedback on the potential amendments to IFRS® S2 by the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB).
The secretariat also provided an update on timings of the next steps in the endorsement process.
2. Deep dive on transitional reliefs amendment
The secretariat presented a paper on options to take forward the proposed amendment on the linking of transitional relief periods to the introduction of any mandatory reporting requirements, to ensure maximum clarity, considering consultation feedback.
The committee discussed the topic, and secretariat will finalise a proposal.
3. Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) updates
The TAC secretariat provided an update on the TAC’s work on the ISSB’s project to enhance the standards produced by the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board.
