UK Semiconductor delegation to the Netherlands: privacy notice

This notice relates to the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) and Innovate UK organised visit to the Netherlands to build relationships with Dutch stakeholders and identify collaborative research and innovation (R&I) partners. The Privacy Notice covers the collection and processing for the application process that selects the UK organisations that will join the delegation.

Your data

We may process the following personal data:

  • name
  • email
  • telephone number
  • address

Purpose

The purpose(s) for which we are processing your personal data is:

  • To keep you updated on the outcome of the competitive application process.
  • To monitor the progress and operational delivery of the delegation to the Netherlands.
  • For the evaluation of the visit to understand its impact and to inform future government policy.

The legal basis for processing your personal data under Article 6 of the UK GDPR is:

6 (1) (e)Public task: Processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the data controller, in this case to keep you informed of the progress of the Flexible AI Upskilling Fund pilot scheme.

Recipients

Your personal data of applicants will be shared by us with other Government Departments or public authorities, in particular the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and Innovate UK, where necessary to support the application process and delivery of the delegation to the Netherlands.

As your personal data will be stored on our IT infrastructure it will also be shared with our data processors Microsoft and Amazon Web Services.

Retention

The personal data of unsuccessful applicants will be kept for a period of 3 months following the application. The personal data of successful applicants will be kept by us for a period of 6 months following the application to ensure that administrative obligations are met, and you can be kept informed of scheme progress.

International Transfers

The personal data of all applications will be processed in the UK and in the European Economic Area (EEA), specifically the Netherlands. It will be shared with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the Government of the Netherlands, and transport, accommodation and venue providers as necessary to monitor the progress and operational delivery of the project. It will be shared subject to the equivalent legal protection through the UK Adequacy Regulations.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • request information about how your personal data are processed, and to request a copy of that personal data
  • request that any inaccuracies in your personal data are rectified without delay
  • request that any incomplete personal data are completed, including by means of a supplementary statement
  • request that your personal data are erased if there is no longer a justification for them to be processed
  • in certain circumstances (for example, where accuracy is contested), request that the processing of your personal data is restricted
  • object to the processing of your personal data where it is processed for direct marketing purposes
  • object to the processing of your personal data
