Details

The UN’s Human Rights Committee which oversees the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) produced a list of issues in April 2020 on which it sought the UK’s response. These issues covered a wide range of issues including discrimination and hate crime, the prohibition of torture, cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment or punishment, counter terrorism, suicide and self-harm in custody and detention, modern slavery and trafficking, migration and asylum , corporal punishment, the age of criminal responsibility and prisoner voting. The UK has now produced the response and is submitting it to the UN.
