Details

The UK-India free trade agreement aims to create greater certainty and transparency for businesses involved in bilateral trade by reducing tariffs and non-tariff measures between the UK and India.

The Regulatory Policy Committee gave a ‘green’ rating to the impact assessment for the free trade agreement on 23 July 2025. This means that we considered it to be fit for purpose based on our scrutiny of the evidence and analysis supporting the assessment.

Our opinion does not consider the merits of the free trade agreement or the negotiation process.
