We were asked

  1. How many hours of paid staff time were spent on trade union duties and activities in 2009-10? Please specify on which unions the time was spent.

  2. What was the salary grade of the most senior member of staff who spent time on trade union duties or activities in 2009-10?

  3. How many members of staff in total spent paid time on trade union and activities in 2009-10?

  4. 11 hours of staff time was spent on trade union facility time during 2009-10, in line with the ACAS Code of Practice “Time Off for Trades Union Duties and Activities”.  The trade union activity was on behalf of the PCS union.

  5. The member of staff concerned was at Band C.  The salary range for this grade working in Inner London as at 1 August 2009 was between £22,755-£28,000.

  6. Only one member of staff was involved in the trade union activity.
