We have received a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 for the following: 

  1. Was there ever a contract in place between the Home Office and Tom Winsor that he would be paid £300 per day for his services, or any other amount if this is inaccurate?
        
  2. Was there ever a contract in place between the Home Office and White & Case that they would be paid £300 per day for Mr Winsor’s services, or any other amount if this is inaccurate?

 

 

We released the following information on 09 November 2012.

  1. As part of the contract between the Home Office and Tom Winsor, it was agreed that the Home Office would reimburse Mr Winsor at a rate of £300 per day.  However, the Home Office has received no request for payment from Mr. Winsor.  We understand that he does not intend to claim this money.

No expenses have been paid for this work.  There is one outstanding claim of £3,220.60 to be made, which consists of receipts for travel, hotels and subsistence necessary in his work on the Review of Police Pay and Conditions.

  1. There was no contract in place between the Home Office and White & Case that they would be paid any amount for Mr. Winsor’s services.
