Timothy Spurrier & Liana Spurrier (trading as Toft Grange Farms) has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a full licence to abstract water from the River Bain from the reaches between National Grid References TF 24495 62065 and TF 24377 61866 (‘A’), TF 24570 62189 and TF 24287 61451 (‘B’), TF 24344 63849 and TF 24704 64199 (‘C’) and at point TF 24054 63235 (‘D’) near Tumby, Mareham-le-fen, Boston, Lincolnshire.
From reach ‘A’, the application is to abstract water as follows:

54 cubic metres an hour

432 cubic metres a day

31,730 cubic metres a year
-
between 1 January and 31 March inclusive in each year.
From reach ‘B’, the application is to abstract water as follows:

54 cubic metres an hour

705 cubic metres a day

18,184 cubic metres a year

between 1 April and 31 October inclusive each year.
From reach ‘C’ and point ‘D’, the application is to abstract water as follows:

54 cubic metres an hour

900 cubic metres a day

between 1 April and 31 October inclusive each year.
The water will be used for ‘Spray irrigation- Storage’ from reach ‘A’ and ‘Spray Irrigation- Direct’ from the remaining reaches and point of abstraction.
