A letter from Jim McMahon OBE, Minister of State for Local Government and English Devolution, to the Leader of Thurrock Council following the fifth report from the Thurrock Commissioners.

The Minister’s letter outlines that the Secretary of State is minded-to use her powers under section 15 of the Local Government Act 1999 to issue new Directions to the council extending the intervention at Thurrock Council until 30 April 2028 and inviting representations from the council by 2 July 2025.
