The Natural History Museum Trading Company Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is to Renew licence serial number TH/039/0039/056 on different terms, which authorises the abstraction of water from confined chalk at The Natural History Museum, Cromwell Road, South Kensington, SW7 at National Grid Reference TQ 26580 78995.

The variation applied for is to increase the annual quantities to the following, with the addition of spray irrigation and pond top up as purposes:

  • 27 cubic metres per hour
  • 375 cubic metres per day
  • 89,570 cubic metres per year.
