Details
HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) commissioned independent research agency, NatCen Research, to undertake quantitative research to understand the scale of the Hidden Economy and characteristics of those involved.
The research comprised of 5,537 survey responses, conducted online and over phone with a representative sample of the UK population.
Findings from this research will update HMRC’s information on those involved in the Hidden Economy, and tailor policy to provide support in respect to tax compliance, to individuals within the Hidden Economy.
