Details

The Environment Act establishes a new domestic framework for environmental governance to protect and enhance the UK’s natural environment and enacts a series of measures to facilitate the delivery of the Government’s 25-year environment plan.

The Department has provided an Enactment IA for the Environment Act, following its enactment in 2021.The RPC welcomes the opportunity to review this IA. The RPC is content that the assessment of the impact of the Act is proportionate at this stage, and notes that a number of measures will require further detailed IAs to be submitted for RPC scrutiny to support related secondary legislation.
