Dounreay supply chain event - June 2023

It’s been several years since Dounreay has welcomed representatives from the supply chain for a face to face gathering. The event was hosted at the Engineering, Technology and Energy Centre of the UHI, North Highland campus, allowing both existing and potential new suppliers to engage with our Commercial team and Dounreay colleagues from various departments.

Fiona Bruce

Fiona Bruce, the Head of Commercial Development, said:

Firstly, I would like to thank everyone who managed to join us at our June supplier engagement event in Thurso. It was great to see so many of our existing suppliers and meet new representatives from our supply chain.

The event was designed to encourage and facilitate greater engagement and dialogue with our supply chain and based on our own experience and the feedback we have received from attendees this was achieved.

The topics covered at the event workshops focused on how we can work more collaboratively, explaining our procurement process, exploring social value and sustainability themes, the importance of psychological safety, why quality is important in the work that we do and finally how can all feed into the Focus North vision.

Finally, we really appreciated those of you who took the time out of your busy schedules to be with us on the day and look forward to engaging with you at future events.

How to do business with us

Dounreay is regulated by the Public Contract Regulations 2015 and there are a variety of routes to market available including open procurements, frameworks and LINC with Dounreay. Dounreay is required to produce a Commercial pipeline which sets out potential future opportunities.

LINC

LINC is a procurement platform to promote engagement with Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and is designed to be a quicker route to market with less paperwork.

All suppliers must be pre-registered for LINC with Dounreay before they are able to submit a tender. Companies who are not SMEs will not be able to tender directly for any opportunities however, they are encouraged to work in collaboration with SMEs and form part of a SME led submission.

To register for LINC In the OneNDA ECommercial System, search for record reference C10546 ‘LINC with Dounreay Registration’ where a registration application form can be downloaded. The form should be completed and submitted along with the supporting documentation as outlined in the registration application form.

Suppliers can register at any time. Suppliers can choose to tender for as many opportunities as they want. Collaborations between suppliers are encouraged and lists of suppliers can be found at the bottom of this page.
