The Company of Proprietors of the Stroudwater Navigation has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 8 of The Water Abstraction (Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2017.

The Environment Agency has received the following abstraction licence application within the Severn Vale catchment.

The application is for a licence to abstract (take) water from the River Frome at National Grid Reference SO 81467 04600 to transfer it to the Stroudwater Canal at Ryeford sluices without intervening use.

Abstraction will take place all year.

The transfer is to maintain water levels in the Stroundwater navigation canal.
