This research presents the results of mixed-methods research into the accessibility and inclusivity of bus and coach services.

The Department for Transport commissioned NatCen to explore gaps in the current research evidence base. Their report:

  • examines the experiences of disabled individuals and those with certain other protected characteristics, with a particular focus on health conditions and impairments
  • explores perceptions, barriers and enablers to using bus and coach services
  • identifies best practices for stops and stations to enhance accessibility, inclusivity and personal safety
