The Government is changing the decades long centralisation of economic power in Whitehall and Westminster, working in partnership with places to deliver growth in every postcode.

The Government is working with local leaders on a delivery plan for this Rewiring the State programme, setting out how a stronger, self-improving sector will be equipped to address the challenges that institutions face while also harnessing the unique opportunities of all places.

Alongside this, our national institutions must also change how they work with places and this document sets out ways in which the Public Financial Institutions and other investment bodies, together with the Office for Investment and the National Infrastructure and Service Transformation Authority, can work with places to deliver their investment priorities.
