The Service Police (Complaints etc) Regulations 2023 enable bodies designated by the Secretary of State to make super-complaints about features of Service Policing they think may be harming the interests of the public.

On 5 August 2025 His Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Constabulary (HMCIC) received a Service Police super-complaint from the Centre for Military Justice. The super-complaint is about Service Police access to victims’ work e-mails and internet browser history.

HMCIC and the Interim Service Police Complaints Commissioner have assessed this super-complaint and decided it is eligible for investigation.
