The Service Police (Complaints etc) Regulations 2023 enable bodies designated by the Secretary of State to make super-complaints about features of Service Policing they think may be harming the interests of the public.
On 5 August 2025 His Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Constabulary (HMCIC) received a Service Police super-complaint from the Centre for Military Justice. The super-complaint is about Service Police access to victims’ work e-mails and internet browser history.
HMCIC and the Interim Service Police Complaints Commissioner have assessed this super-complaint and decided it is eligible for investigation.
At the request of the Centre for Military Justice we have redacted information which could identify individuals and removed personal information from its submission.
