Stearn Farms Limited: application made to abstract water

Stearn Farms Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is to vary licence serial number AN/033/0052/019/R01 which authorises the abstraction of water from underground strata comprising of sands and gravels at three abstraction points, two pits at National Grid References (NGRs) TL 42477 85025 and TL 43063 85505 and a wellpoint between NGRs TL 42701 85199 and TL 42898 85400.
The variation applied for is to add an abstraction point known as West Lake, which is groundwater fed, at National Grid Reference TL 42951 84384. The abstraction location is already licenced by Stearn Farms Limited under licence number AN/033/0052/020 and this variation would amalgamate the two licences under the one licence number AN/033/0052/019/R01. Licence number AN/033/0052/020 would subsequently be revoked.
