The Environment Agency is advising farmers and landowners with land adjoining the following watercourses, that they will be carrying out weed cutting operations between June and October 2014.
It may be necessary to cut the grass on river banks up to 2 weeks before weed cutting starts.
If you own land or property next to these rivers, you should keep clear a 7 metre strip of land from the top of the bank or bank toe of a flood bank to enable access and maintenance work.
The Environment Agency makes every effort to minimise damage to crops, but it is not possible to interupt or delay the programme, as efficient routes for the weed cutting machines have been established over many years.
This programme is for guidance only and may vary due to weather conditions, weed growth and machine availability.
