This report explains the sampling and methodology of the Small Business Survey (SBS) 2016, a large-scale telephone survey of 9,248 UK small business owners and managers. This is the latest in a series of surveys dating back to 2003. The 2016 survey was carried out between August 2016 and January 2017.
