Innovation code: enrolling learners on courses that don’t currently lead to a qualification
This document sets out how colleges, training organisations and who receive a direct grant from us can use funding for courses that meet particular local business and employment needs, whilst they are simultaneously developed for the accreditation.
If you wish to use the innovation code, you must be on the Agency’s Register of Training Organisations or list of declared subcontractors. The education and training must be delivered within your existing funding allocation. Normal learner eligibility and entitlement rules will apply.
The guidance gives a fuller explanation of how to use the innovation code, specifically in response to requests from colleges, training organisations and representative bodies.
You should read it together the relevant sections of the Funding Rules 2014 to 2015.
