How much special provision funding local authorities will receive from 2018 to 2020, and guidance on requirements to access the fund.
Special provision funding is for local authorities to create places for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), and to improve facilities for them in mainstream and special schools, nurseries, colleges and other education providers.
The ‘explanatory note’ shows how we calculated the funding for each local authority.
The guidance document explains what you can spend the funding on and what planning you should do.
To access the funding, you must publish a concise plan to describe how you intend to use your allocation. To do this, use the special provision plan template and example template.
For more information about local authorities’ strategic planning read the ‘High needs strategic planning fund’ guidance.
