During the course of the 2010 to 2015 Parliament the Regulatory Policy Committee scrutinised over 1,200 regulatory proposals affecting business and civil society organisations, of which 951 became law. This resulted in the RPC issuing just over 2000 opinions on the quality of the evidence base supporting these proposals.
This report provides details of the RPC’s work during the Parliament, including the most complete analysis of the Government’s published savings to business of £2.2 billion per year from changes in law.
