Bradley Simmons, regional director at Ofsted, has written to Swindon's council and education sector raising concerns about school performance.
The regional director for the south west has set out his deepening concern over poor school performance in a letter to Swindon’s council, headteachers, chairs of governors, regional schools commissioner, multi academy trusts and MPs.
He highlights that:
- primary school performance, previously showing a positive trend of improvement, is now a concern
- recent secondary schools inspections indicate a trend of decline
He urges all involved in leading and supporting these schools to take immediate action to bring about rapid and sustained improvements.
