For schools offering the school experience programme (SEP) to teaching training candidates. Includes arranging and booking placements, information on payments and invoicing.
The school experience programme gives prospective applicants for initial teacher training (ITT) the opportunity to spend up to 10 days in school to gain an insight into the role and responsibilities of a teacher. SEP is currently available to eligible candidates wishing to teach:
- design & technology
Eligible candidates initially book a one day visit with their chosen school, and are encouraged to arrange up to 9 further days with that school at a time that suits both candidate and host school. Schools are paid by the National College for Teaching and Leadership to host the visit, and Disclosure and Barring Service costs are also paid where applicable.
