Includes declared catches for salmon, sea trout, eels, smelt and lamprey by rods, nets and other instruments.

The figure for salmon and sea trout rod licences issued in 2025 has been corrected to 21,275. This figure has been corrected in the table 'Number and percentage of paper and online catch returns, 2018 to 205' along with the % of catch returns figure which has been corrected to 52.6%. This has also been corrected in the table 'England and Wales summary of declared salmon and sea trout rod catches in 2025 showing percentage change on 2024 and the 5-year mean (2020 to 2024)', the figure for % change 2025 on 2024 has also been corrected to -3.0% and % change 2025 on 5-yr mean has been corrected to -9.9%.
