1 - Welcome and introductions

A There were apologies from Richard Peden (RP). This meeting had been called in accordance with Standing Order 5.2 as an additional single item agenda meeting.

2 - Declaration of interests

B There were no new Declarations of Interest.

3 - Staffing the Corporate Centre: strategic update and assurance

C JW presented the slide deck to the Committee and started the discussion.  He gave an overview of progress with the Corporate Centre project and the expected timescales.  He confirmed that although much of the work will happen in tandem with Framework 28, the Corporate Centre project is expected to be completed sooner.

D JW explained that currently the discovery phase is in process. David Blackburn is running workshops and has held initial meetings with SLG and Exec. JW clarified that the project will be collaborative and officers will be involved in reshaping the corporate centre, as they have front line understanding of the business.

E Members discussed the project and asked various points of clarification:

  • JW was asked if there is a review phase and how this can facilitate agility. It was confirmed that we intend to be as agile as we can, and that there will be a stabilisation and closure period in early 2027.

F JW confirmed that there will be an Exec strategy session in June at which Exec would be firming up its vision for the next 2 to 3 years.
