Details

The Insolvency Service, sponsored by the Department for Business and Trade, has published a post-implementation review (PIR) that evaluates the Rating (Coronavirus) and Directors Disqualification (Dissolved Companies) Act 2021, specifically the primary legislation to expand the investigative and disqualification powers of the Insolvency Service to include former directors of dissolved companies.

The Regulatory Policy Committee (RPC) gave a ‘green’ rating to the PIR on 3 July 2026. This means that we considered the PIR to be ’fit for purpose’ based on our scrutiny of the evidence and analysis supporting the case to keep the regulatory measure.

The RPC’s opinion refers to the evidence and analysis presented in the PIR, not the merits of the policy itself.
