Updated 6 April 2016
The Environment Agency recently held 3 public events, to get local residents’ views and knowledge on the proposed works that are planned for Sunbury, Molesey and Teddington Weirs as part of the River Thames Scheme.
The local drop-in events were held at the following locations:
Location | Date |
---|---|
Sunbury Court Conference Centre, Sunbury-on-Thames TW16 5PL | Tuesday 15 March 2016 |
Molesey Boat Club, Barge Walk, Easy Molesey, KT8 9AJ | Wednesday 16 March 2016 |
Tamesis Sailing Club, Trowlock Way, Broom Road,Teddington TW11 9QY | Tuesday 22 March 2016 |
At the events, the preferred options for improving the flow capacity for each of the weirs were presented. This included information on:
- construction timescales
- options for the location of the works
- options for the appearance of the changes for each weir and the immediate surroundings
If you were not able to attend one of the drop-in events, the Environment Agency would still like to hear your views and get your feedback on the proposals. All of the information from the drop-in events can be found on the River Thames Scheme Facebook page.
You can also give your feedback by emailing rts@environment-agency.gov.uk.
Plans for the weir designs will be finalised later in 2016 and local advice and input from residents will influence the final submission.
