The community resilience advisor role was part of the Major Incident Planning project completed in 2016. Engaging with communities about flood preparedness is now carried out by other Environment Agency staff.

The River Thames Scheme team are pleased to introduce their new team of Community Resilience Advisors.

A team who work with residents and community groups within the River Thames Scheme area to help them to plan and prepare for flooding. This includes helping residents and communities with:

  • setting up a community flood action group
  • establishing community resilience volunteer (flood warden) schemes
  • producing and testing community emergency plans
  • any concerns they have about flooding

Each Community Resilience Advisor covers a different geographical area:
