Details

The SSRB has been asked by the Home Secretary, Amber Rudd MP, to undertake a review of the remuneration of Police and Crime Commissioners. It has been requested to consider the following:

  • whether the level of PCC pay remains set at an appropriate level, given how the role has evolved and the additional statutory functions taken on by PCCs

  • if there is evidence that an uplift is required, whether that should be applied consistently across police force areas or whether it should be applied differently according to local factors

  • the timing and frequency of future reviews

This open call for evidence is one strand of the evidence gathering process and the SSRB would very much like to receive views from interested parties on these issues.

This call for evidence was launched on 5 February and the deadline for responses is 12 March. Responses should be entered onto the form provided and submitted by email to ssrb.pcc@beis.gov.uk
