Thank you for your email of 20 April to the Cabinet Office regarding public procurement legislation.
In December 2020, the Cabinet Office set out proposals for shaping the future of public procurement legislation with the publication of a green paper, Transforming Public Procurement. We received over 600 responses to the consultation in addition to feedback from a series of workshops attended by almost 1000 stakeholders. In December 2021 we published the government’s response to the consultation. This summarised the responses received and set out the government’s response to the individual questions and how it intends to proceed. A bill will be introduced when parliamentary time allows.
