Defra commissioned the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) to review the current and future supply and capacity of reservoir safety panel engineers in the UK. This was done in response to recommendation 7 of the reservoir review: part B report published in 2021.
This report makes a series of recommendations to improve the supply of panel engineers over the short and long term. The government has welcomed the report. Actions on these recommendations will be included as part of the wider reservoir safety reform programme, announced in July 2022.
