Request to extend a prescribed time limit to a period prescribed by Patents Rules.

Details
You can either:
- request a two month extension (where no such request has been made previously) to a time period prescribed by the rules listed in part 2 of Schedule 4 of the Patents Rules, or
- request the comptroller to otherwise extend (or further extend) a time period prescribed by the rules listed in part 2 of Schedule 4 of the Patents Rules
Where the request is made under the second bullet point above you must give us evidence supporting the grounds for the request when you apply or as soon as possible afterwards (unless the office otherwise directs).
If the time period you wish to extend appears in part 3 of Schedule 4 of the Patents Rules you may request an extension of two months to these periods under the provisions of (i) above (rule 108(2)). Further extensions for these time periods are available under rule 108(3) however you should contact the office for advice on when these extensions are available.
