The Mining Remediation Authority wants to ensure that we operate an ethical and open environment.
We want to be able to take swift action to ensure that inappropriate activity or behaviour is stopped as soon as possible.
So you taking your time and effort to report misconduct of any sort will help us to work together to put things right as quickly as possible.
This is also known as whistleblowing.
Fraud
Fraud is defined by Action Fraud as when trickery is used to gain a dishonest advantage, which is often financial, over another person.
Corruption is broadly defined as the abuse of entrusted power for private gain (Transparency, 2011).
Bribery is defined as giving or receiving a financial or other advantage in connection with the improper performance of a position of trust or a function that is expected to be performed impartially or in good faith.
Misconduct
Other misconduct that we’d like to hear about could include:
- someone’s health and safety is in danger
- risk or actual damage to the environment
- a miscarriage of justice
- the Mining Remediation Authority is breaking the law
- you believe someone is covering up wrongdoing
