This report contains findings of an evaluation of the research and development programme delivered by the Rail Safety and Standards Board, which is primarily funded by the Department for Transport.

The evaluation was conducted by external consultants in 2022, and evaluates the programme’s impact, value for money and processes to provide an overall assessment. The report includes high-level findings and conclusions drawn from the evidence collected.
