R P Gates & Sons Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is to vary licence serial number 6/33/12/*S/0152/R02 which authorises the abstraction of water from the River Ouse at Great Barford, Bedfordshire, from a reach between National Grid References (NGRs) TL 13981 52190 to TL 14048 52522 from March to September for the purpose of spray irrigation.

The variation applied for is to extend the abstraction reach to NGRs TL 13981 52190 to TL 14485 53282 and to increase annual abstraction from 9,090 cubic metres to 18,504 cubic metres.

Daily abstraction of 364 cubic metres will not change.
