Data quality

This data is subject to change as applications continue to be processed and assessed.

The total number of applications submitted may not equal the combined number of successful and unsuccessful applications because:

  • some applications are still being reviewed
  • some applications have been withdrawn by the applicant

This publication reports on applications made through the service only. It does not:

  • provide information on the number of teachers who were successful in obtaining QTS, who are in the teaching workforce in England
  • represent the overall size of the teacher workforce in England

The latest data on numbers of non-UK national teachers in the workforce can be found at tabs TF1-TF4  within the data annex submitted to the School Teachers Review body (STRB) to support the 2026 pay award.
