Details

This rapid review of public facing behavioural advice relating to summer risks, including extreme heat, drought and wildfire, was conducted in July 2025 by Behavioural Research UK for the Social and Behavioural Science for Emergencies (SBSE) Steering Group.

The review reports i) current UK behavioural advice on how to respond to extreme heat, drought and wildfire, ii) areas of consistency and contradiction, and ways these can be clarified, iii) how different sources of advice are likely to be received by the public at the same time, and iv) whether and how local advice reflects local conditions within a national situation.
