This report looks at the role of leaders in the promotion of positive behaviour in schools and similar settings.
This study explores research literature, guidance documents and practitioner-based knowledge on pupil behaviour. It has a particular emphasis on the role of leaders in the improvement of positive behaviour in schools and similar settings.
It considers leadership related issues across the following themes:
- school cultures, relationships and behaviour
- partnerships and communities
- professional characteristics and behaviour
- promoting inclusion and limiting exclusion
It also discusses the characteristics seen in effective leadership practice in improving positive behaviour.
