Details

This code fulfils the government’s statutory duty under the Parking (Code of Practice) Act 2019 to prepare a code of practice containing guidance about the operation and management of private parking facilities.

1. On 20 October 2026, this draft code was laid in Parliament. The code will now be subject to a 40-day period of Parliamentary scrutiny before it can be issued.

2. The code will come into force 21 calendar days from the point of issue.

3. The transitional enforcement arrangements for new standards will be published on GOV.UK when the code comes into force.
