Details

This guidance ensures that:

  • personal data (including special category data) is processed fairly and lawfully by the Biometrics and Forensics Ethics group (BFEG), in compliance with the requirements of data protection legislation and other relevant information governance obligations
  • the Forensic Science Regulator, Surveillance Camera Commissioner, members of the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs (ACMD), Animals in Science Committee (ASC) and BFEG as well as the Home Office officials within the support teams for each of these bodies are aware of their responsibilities when processing personal data on behalf of each body
  • the Forensic Science Regulator, Surveillance Camera Commissioner, members of the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs, Animals in Science Committee and Biometrics and Forensics Ethics groups establishes and maintains a culture of data protection by design
