This Prison Service Instruction sets out the legal duties for conducting workplace risk assessments, in line with the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999.

Its purpose is to promote a consistent approach across all locations, helping ensure that health and safety risks are properly identified, assessed, and managed to maintain a safe working environment for everyone.
