Priority School Building Programme: phase 2

Education Funding Agency (EFA) received a high number of applications for PSBP2 and anticipates being able to communicate the outcome of its assessment exercise shortly.

We’re aware that this timescale means academies and sixth-form colleges will not know the outcome of their PSBP2 application before the deadline for applications to the Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) on 19 December. We encourage those establishments who meet the criteria for CIF to make an application, even if they have already expressed an interest in PSBP2. The CIF guidance gives specific advice about how PSBP2 applicants can put forward block replacement projects.

The deadline for submitting expressions of interest for PSBP2 was 3pm on Monday 21 July. Saved, draft or late forms will not be considered.

PSBP2 was launched on 1 May 2014 to undertake major rebuilding and refurbishment projects to address the needs of those schools in the very worst condition. Local authorities, dioceses, sixth-form colleges, academies, and multi-academy trusts (depending on the nature of the school) could submit expressions of interest for an entire school site or for one or multiple individual buildings.

You can view your submitted expression of interest form online by logging into the PSBP2 application system with your username and password.

If you wish to contact EFA about PSBP2 please email PSBP2.efacapital@education.gsi.gov.uk.

Structural and/or asbestos Issues

Responsible bodies should take any action necessary to address any immediate or future health and safety risks arising from such concerns or issues in a timely manner depending on the particular circumstances. Action should not be delayed pending the outcome of the expression of interest process.
