This page contains a simplified summary of the Ministry of Justice’s progress in assessing convictions against the Post Office (Horizon System) Offences Act 2024 since it received Royal Assent on 24 May 2024. This reflects the data of the government’s final Post Office Management Information publication, which is correct as of 15 September 2026.

Breakdown of the categories
- Cases received: This is the number of all cases received by the Ministry of Justice casework team where there is sufficient information to trace and assess a conviction. This includes cases received by the Post Office, Crown Prosecution Service, Royal Mail Group, and individuals who have self-identified.
- Cases assessed: This is the number of the cases received in category 1 which have been assessed by the casework team.
- Individuals with a conviction quashed: This is the number of individuals who have had at least one conviction quashed by the Act. Individuals in this category are eligible to apply for the Horizon Convictions Redress Scheme.
- Number of individuals with a quashed conviction who were written to: This is the number of individuals in category 3 that we have written to about their quashed conviction(s). The remaining individuals in category 3 have not been written to as we have been unable to verify their current address.
